The last date for registration has passed.

We are excited to offer you the Canoe Certification course. 
This blended-learning course consists of two parts, combining a pre-course learning module with the 
on-site skills testing to enable you to practice your skills and demonstrate competency. 

Part 1 – Register, review materials and complete quiz prior to the water skills session - fee is $15
Part 2 – Meet with instructor to complete the Water Skills Test Session - fee is $20 – payable to instructor

Requirements: 

To pass this course you do not have to be a canoeing expert

but you must have some prior experience and be very comfortable controlling a canoe.

You will also need to be able to demonstrate these somewhat physically challenging skills:

-swim 50 yards (must use recognized swim strokes; no dog-paddling)

-tread water for one minute

-solo paddle forward, backward, turn, capsize and

-re-enter canoe from deep water (practice this one in advance)

GSSA Canoe Certification is good for three years.

Cancellation Policy
By YOU - Cancellation notifications must be submitted to customercare@girlscoutssa.org before the registration deadline. A 15% cancellation fee will be withheld for registration refund processing. By COUNCIL - For cancellations due to weather-related problems, or for other reasons beyond the council's control, we will attempt to notify the troop contact listed on the form by email or telephone. Every attempt will be made to issue full refunds for such cancellations. If an event is cancelled by the council for reasons other than those stated above, you will be notified as soon as possible via the contact on the registration form and a full refund will be issued.
